Meet the girl behind the story.
At fifteen, Elisa Mackenzie-Hayes left Vancouver, Canada, behind to start a new life in the United States. Now living in Seattle, Oregon, with her mother and older brother, she must adapt to a new city, a new school, and a routine completely different from the one she knew.
Born on October 8th, Elisa grew up alongside her mother, Beatriz, and her older brother, Pietro. Despite the changes and the family's ups and downs, the three share a very close bond—even though Pietro can easily be one of the people who drives Elisa the craziest.
Observant, curious, and determined, Elisa tends to notice details that others overlook. She isn't the type to simply accept an unfair situation, and when she believes she is right, it can be very difficult to change her mind. Beneath her seemingly calm exterior lies a girl who overthinks, feels deeply, and is always trying to make sense of the world around her.
Now, in a new city and surrounded by people she doesn't yet fully know, Elisa is about to discover that some stories begin precisely when we leave a part of our lives behind.
